It is going to be so cute with some leggings and boots this fall!

New Pattern- Scrap Busting Skirt!

Who doesn't have an overwhelming amount of scraps?

But you just can't throw them away....Must. Make. Something. With. Them!!!!!!

Well, I was getting tired of looking at my mountain of scraps and came up with this:

You can find it in my etsy shop!

Funky playdoh recipes

The rainy days lately have brought out the teacher in me....and we've been doing projects and making stuff!

Some fun playdoh recipes we have tried this week:

FLUBBER:

1 1/2 cups glue (the white stuff)

4 T Borax (found with laundry detergent in a box, fairly cheap too!)

4 Cups water

Mix 2 c water and glue.

In a separate bowl mix 2 C water and borax.

Stir until it dissolves.

Pour Borax mixture a little at a time into the glue mixture.

SILLY DOUGH:

1/4 cup liquid starch (found it at the Walmart after looking everywhere else! It's in a blue jug with laundry type stuff.)

1/2 cup glue (white stuff)

1/4 t. food coloring

Mix together.

Let it sit for 5 Min.

Knead by hand until starch is absorbed.

These are really quite fun. So much better than boughten play doh too!!!!

The Double Mac

I certainly can't be caught with a plain jane kinda stroller.

So, when my new double MacLaren stroller arrived on my doorstep I just had to do something.  It was all brown for goodness sake!

Here's what I came up with:

Reversible seat covers in some of my favorite-and not super girly-Amy Butler prints!

LOVE!

And I can take them off and wash them super easy too! Bonus!

I also added a pouch thing for the back that attaches with velcro.
For all those random things a mommy seems to get handed while out and about!

New bag for ME!

How much do I love this bag.  ummmmmm lots!

It is just gorgeous in person! And I put lots of pockets in for all those things I seem to have to carry around!

If it wouldn't have been rainy outside I should have taken this picture in sunlight!

I think Peighton will be wearing one of these most of the summer as she already LOVES it!

So cute and would be great in the fall too with long sleeves underneath!

A snow day project

It's been snowing for DAYS around here....so I decided to make a beach tote this afternoon for our upcoming trip to Mexico!
I think it'll be great for toting things around and I made it super lightweight so it won't take up much space in my suitcase....leaving plenty of room for lots of cute shoes!
And it just happens to match an adorable little messenger bag that I made last week!

Make your own shiny paint!

Peighton and I had a BLAST making this paint and then of course painting with it!

It has such a different texture than "regular" paint!
I won't tell you just how many pictures we made....

Shiny Paint

corn syrup
food coloring

Pour some corn syrup (I think I did like 3-4 tablespoons of each color) into a bowl, add a few drops of food coloring and mix!
That's it-you're ready to paint!

We had so much fun-I highly recommend trying this one!

thanksgiving tablecloth!

LOVE this tablecloth!
The 3 center strips are where the plates will sit, kind of like built-in placemats!

And some random lamp projects from today!

This one was just a plain white lamp shade that was SOOOO boring!
Had some scraps of black and white toile (my favorite!) left from curtains and look what I did!

This one I bought at Target today and it was a boring old white lampshade again!  But now it's
DISCO DOTS!!!!!!

So fun!
I think I'll add some funky beads to the bottom or something but for now, they are pretty darn cute!

Cinnamon Ornaments

Peighton and I had a great time making these yummy smelling ornaments yesterday!

I'll get some pictures when we hang them on the tree!

Cinnamon Ornaments

1 cup cinnamon

1 cup applesauce

1/2 t. nutmeg

1/2 t. ground cloves

1/2 t. allspice

Mix them all together until it's kind of like playdoh. I had to add a bit of flour to make it a bit less sticky.

Roll out with a bit of flour and cut with cookie cutters.

Poke a hole for hanging with a straw.

Let dry for a couple days.

Tie a few inches of ribbon through the hole and hang on the tree or tie on packages!

Some "fun" stuff I've been doing!

We are already thinking Christmas around this house!
Yesterday, we made some fabulous stockings!
I hand sewed pearls onto all the points of the triangles....should have taken a new picture because they are even cuter!!!!

And some uber-fabulous bags with matching little pouches and keychains-which are sadly MIA in this picture!
Wouldn't you love to have this under YOUR tree!!!!!
Some lucky people in my life will have it under theirs!

I also just finished a fabulous skirt for myself.....but it definately needs a modeling shot-laying on my floor does it NO justice!

A bit of a birthday preview!

We are CRAZY about cupcakes around here lately!
Peighton's third birthday is coming up in a few weeks and the preparations have begun.
Our giant cupcakes will sit on the cake stands....snack mix in our teacups with adorable pinwheels sticking out and that fun pennant hanging in an archway!
Super cute for a super special little girl!

Peighton is loving her cupcake seat!
She'll have her own special spot for blowing out the candles!

And one more cupcake thing!
SLIPPERS!!!!

Our hardwoods are getting quite cold as the weather gets cooler....so we decided to whip up some cupcake slippers!!!!

Kool-aid Play doh!

have you ever made this stuff?  It is just so fun!  It smells good and it's great to play with on a cold winter day.
So, here's the recipe:

Kool-aid playdoh

1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1 1/2 T oil
1/2 T alum
1 package kool-aid
1 cup HOT water

Mix it all together and enjoy!
I usually have to add more flour to it as I am mixing it up, just until it is easy to work with.

We like to make lots of different scents at one time and enjoy all the unique smells!!!!

Have fun!
I need to get some pictures of us playing with it....Peighton is such a fun play-doh player!
